submitted 5 months ago* by Beauville
Please remember to UPVOTE this thread. Submit your favourite match, or vote if your match has already been submitted. The match with the most upvotes will win.
THE UNDERTAKER & HBK: @ WrestleMania 25
AJ STYLES: vs. Christopher Daniels & Samoa Joe @ Unbreakable 2005
CM PUNK: vs. Samoa Joe @ Joe vs. Punk II
HULK HOGAN: vs. The Rock @ WrestleMania X8
JOHN CENA: vs. CM Punk @ Money In The Bank 2011
KURT ANGLE: vs. HBK @ WrestleMania 21
MICK FOLEY: vs. HHH @ Royal Rumble 2000
RANDY SAVAGE: vs. Ricky Steamboat @ WrestleMania III
STING: vs. Ric Flair @ Clash Of The Champions I
STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN: vs. Bret Hart @ WrestleMania 13
TRISH STRATUS: vs. Mickie James @ WrestleMania 22
Yet another close voting round, CM Punk vs. Joe II beats vs. Cena @ MITB 2011 by only two votes! Undertaker vs. HBK @ WM 25 still remains the only double favourite.
Note that this doesn't necessarily have to be what you think this wrestler's "best" match was, just your personal favourite.
So, wreddit, what is your favourite GENETIC JACKHAMMER match?
(As always, big thanks goes to /u/wiiwierdo for posting links!)

Vince vs. Shane at Wrestlemania X-Seven.
[–]king_of_whatever 15 points16 points17 points 5 months ago
That pop when Linda stands is INSANE! I mean, have people ever popped so loud for someone STANDING UP?

[–]whiskerbiscuit2 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago
Oh yes, this. Mick Foley as referee, Linda vs Trish and dat Van Shane-inator. Stand out match on a PPV sacked with great matches, from two non wrestlers as well. Love it.
[–]MFoy 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
My favorite Vince match as well. One of my favorite Shane matches, but probably not as good as the one with Angle.
[–]B0RKLASER 56 points57 points58 points 5 months ago
His cage match with SCSA stands out to me.
[–]GreenK 17 points18 points19 points 5 months ago
The memory of a battered and bloody Vince flipping off Austin when he was in the process of leaving the cage, so Austin climbed back in and beat his ass some more is one of my favourites of the Attitude Era
[–]nWo1997nwo 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago
The way he bounced off the announce table is one of the parts I always distinctly remember. You can tell he landed on the nearly indestructible part, and for him to continue the match when he doesn't usually wrestle at all was just incredible.
[–]Montybrython 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago
Not to mention the arrival of The Giant... ugh I loved it.
[–]wiiwierdo 7 points8 points9 points 5 months ago
[–]deadman36g_ 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago
+1 for this. None of Vince's matches were great but this one was the most important to me.
[–]DrewxThe True Icon 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
That video promo has to be my favourite of all time it gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it.
[–]LordofMylarLesnar is ticklish 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
I'd have to flip a coin between the Stone Cold match, or the match with Shane at Wrestlemania 17.
[–]coinflipbot 10 points11 points12 points 5 months ago
I flipped a coin for you, /u/LordofMylar The result was: tails!

Does the Royal Rumble '99 match count? I thought McMahon was flawless here. From his dirty heel tactics, his hilarious commentary to his facial reactions and his beer bath celebration. It's my favourite Vinnie Mac moment anyway!
[–]CasinoIndianits fuckin vader! 3 points4 points5 points 5 months ago
Agreed. A lot of people didn't like it but I still love that Rumble. Vince always gets me with his weird, super intense acting.
[–]Fisty_Jis your hookup 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
This is my favorite for sure, if it counts. If not, definitely the one with Vince and Shane vs Shawn Michaels.... AND GGGGOOOODDDDDDD!
[–]Beauville[S] 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
If the person was in the match, then it counts!

vs. Hulk Hogan @ WrestleMania XIX
A pretty goofy streetfight, lots of fun to watch.
[–]bud369YOU'RESUPPOSEDTOBEMYFRIEND 6 points7 points8 points 5 months ago
My vote for sure. I have very fond memories of this one, including having that amazing shot of Vince sporting the crimson mask, peering up from the side of the ring...just sensational.
[–]cgreefalsnow 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
Definitely my favourite Vince match. It is wholly entertaining through and through. So much fun!
[–]crashdummieCrash Test Jabroni 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
I'd vote for it as well. I expected it to be awful, and they gave one hell of a great show.
[–]mbuys1989WhereIsHe.. 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
Not to mention Vince's leg drop off the ladder through the table.
[–]evanweb546I miss the early 90's... 3 points4 points5 points 5 months ago
Came to say this. Super fun wacky WWE style match between two of the best entertainers in the business.
[–]jaggular 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
This was so much fun to watch, but also if you think about it this match has way more real life buildup behind it than most other matches.
[–]B0RKLASER 18 points19 points20 points 5 months ago
His kendo battle with Punk wasn't too shabby for being an old man
[–]The_fun_Machine 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago

Vince vs Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania 22
[–]Runningboard7Best in the Tricounty! 7 points8 points9 points 5 months ago*
the match wasn't good, but watching Vince get the shit kicked out of him makes this my favorite, too. Wanted the front of that trash can to touch its own back when Michaels came down on it.
EDIT: rewatching it now. It's better than I remember, but still not fantastic. AN IMPORTANT LESSON, THOUGH: Stephanie could really take a page from her dad when it comes to willingness to be made to look like a fool. Vince's bump sells, especially when getting strangled, are awesome. meanwhile Stephanie's response to Big Show being defiant is to mercilessly slap him in the face. To getting the talk-to-the-hand treatment from Dusty: smack it away and get all shitty about it.
HHH took a punch to the face, but I'm still worried that Stephanie will get out of this without being willing to play the fool.
[–]herroherro12WHAT? 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago
I really want her to start something with AJ and end up having to tap out to her
[–]Blee10Palace Of Wisdom 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
I love this match. I know it gets a lot of shit for being overrated but I'm a huge fan of it. The story it tells is awesome.
[–]chimpwizardBroadcast Journalist 7 points8 points9 points 5 months ago
I don't know what PPV this was at but it was a match vs Triple H. Stephanie turned on Vince at the end of it. It was a great match.

I'm going to with vs. CM Punk from Raw 10/08/12, not because it's any good, or did much for any storyline, it's just insane that a year ago Vince McMahon literally wrestled in a Main Event on Raw. Therefore due to its insanity, it's my favorite.
[–]philly_boiPunk > Rock 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago
wasn't any good? Dude, that was an awesome moment! Him and Punk going at it with kendo sticks!? I bet they both actually legit enjoyed doing that to each other.
[–]CasinoIndianits fuckin vader! 5 points6 points7 points 5 months ago
Vince vs. Stephanie. He was beating up his own daughter. How much closer to Thunderdome can you get?

vs Ric Flair at Royal Rumble 2002. It was a good match with an amazing build up. I'd honestly say that Vince is one of the masters of the street fight" matches.

Big Bossman. The stipulation was that no-one in the corporation could interfere, Bossman was fired from the corporation before the match and was reinstated the night after.

Easily my favorite. I was pissed when it was not on the dvd.
[–]twinightstream7 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago
Surprised this hasn't been mentioned, but VKM vs Taker from Survior Series 2003.
Vince likes to get hit stiff, and Taker beats the fuck out of him. There's a shovel hit that I swear to god almost crushed Vinces skull. Brutal, brutal match.
[–]BernieEls 2 points3 points4 points 5 months ago
Him vs Ric Flair on the Raw before the "retirement" match. Seeing 60+ yr old men bloody and going thru tables was pretty fucking cool. All they needed was Terry Funk doing his ladder spot.
[–]RST11yes 4 points5 points6 points 5 months ago
It has to be at Wrestlemania 22 vs. Shawn Michaels ...
I think it's just goes to show how great HBK really was ... he took a 60 year old non-wrestler, and created arguably the match of the year in 2006.
But you have to give McMahon credit in his ability to sell a story ... just a brilliant 20 minutes of PPV ...
[–]realstevedangerExcellence 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
Match of the year? Come on dude...
[–]RST11yes 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
PWI voted it as such... That's why I used "arguably"... 2006 wasn't the strongest of years for WWE.
PWI is shit. Wrestling Observer gave it to Do Fixer vs. Blood Generation in ROH for 2006. I might argue that one too but it's way better than HBK vs. Vince.
[–]MegalomaniactorDude, that's a Llama mask 0 points1 point2 points 5 months ago
That's because PWI operates mostly within Kayfabe.
Ah, good to know. I haven't read anything from PWI in like a million years.

Vince vs Triple H for the WWF Championship, and winning it.
[–]afterthefire1joe 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago
Vince vs Shane, but not the WM ones. He fought Shane on RAW one night. Shane was heel and Vince was face (well, he was only pretending to be for a few weeks along side Austin) Shane was just beating him down with repeated clotheslines, and finally, Vince ducks one, gives double fingers and delivers what I'm pretty sure to be the first Vinnie Mac Stunner.
