- Bonobo - (Most of his music in particular the albums Animal Magic, Dial 'M' for Monkey, and Days to Come)
Cirrus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WF34N4gJAKE
D Song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgglnZfiwo0
Nothing Owed - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onYRk2kteNk
Wayward Bob - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJb_VY2-LNE
Throughout most of my psilocybin encounters, with friends and in solitude, it is almost invariably realized that Bonobo's music has the unique ability to draw incredible images and animated characters from the trippers mind. His music in the wake of the psychedelic peak has a very tribal yet very modern and technological vibe to it, making Bonobo himself seem to take on the role of a cybernetic shaman.
- Rubblebucket ("Save all your mushrooms for Rubblebucket! Save all your mushrooms for Rubblebucket!" - shouts from Bonnaroo 2012)
(Their self-titled album, which is also their first I believe, is THE best for the psychedelic experience)
Philips Van (this song sounds like a spinning kaleidoscope SOBER) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4unbryZaKNI
Triangular Daisies (raw joygasm, this song makes me cry on mushrooms) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idpA2nSDCHE
Maya (dark, but VERY psychedelic) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpCYWCzimq4
Having seen them live multiple times, and having used their music as a very real spirit guide, I can personally attest to the band's brilliance and power to astound the tripping mind. Their live performances are absolutely FULL of energy and practically everyone cannot help but dance themselves into a coma. For a bizarre video describing the band's overall character I'd send you here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgpz7wTN_pw) but Philips Van is probably my favorite.
- Ween (perhaps the most bizarre and amazing band I've ever encountered. Gene and Dean Ween have more variety in their music and sound than any other band I know of, and still manage to keep their sound heavily satirical and psychedelic)
Zoloft (yup, a song about Zoloft) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vvc75iReUOY
Mononucleosis (just to show you how dark and depraved their sound can be, would NOT recommend this one while tripping unless you want an embolism hahaha) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwXZ2AAVptg
Among His Tribe (thoroughly psychedelic song and album for that matter, check out Quebec for more) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GRa6TLeFzU
Voodoo Lady (Shakin' that stick, drivin' me crazy) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XO5R_OSZvoc
Exactly Where I'm At (Look at yourself your lips are like two flabs of fat, they go front and back and flappity flappity flap) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBaqh75Mi9s
I was going to list others like Phish (obvious), Lotus (Nomad in particular), Shpongle, etc. but those choices are more obvious and I wanted to share bands and songs that may be being overlooked, and not those that EVERY acid freak already has in their radar (obviously if you don't know Phish, Lotus, or Shpongle go look em up), but Bonobo, Rubblebucket, and Ween sometimes feel like ghosts, even amongst psychedelic audiences.
Any bands for me given the bands I like?
P.S. Automagical playlist in the comments!
